DCE/OFL Courses & Programmes

Welcome to the division of Distance and Continuing Education/Open and Flexible Learning Centre (DCE/OFL), a division of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology (SJPI).

The DCE/OFL provides high-quality certificate and diploma programmes and courses to both traditional and nontraditional students using a variety of modalities, including online and face-to-face.

Since its establishment, DCE/OFL has trained thousands with lifelong skills and provided Barbados with a qualified workforce.

DCE/OFL’s online presence reflects the SJPI’s commitment to meeting the students where they are while engaging with present-day trends in education.

Please Note:

Applicants MUST be at least 16 years old by May 31 of the same year.

Applicants to the Nursing Auxiliary Studies Certificate MUST be at least 18 years old by May 31 of the same year.

Applicants who were born outside of Barbados are required to submit original documentation containing their immigration status along with copies to the Distance and Continuing Division one week after the application is submitted online or with the printed application form.

The SJPI reserves the right to discontinue under-subscribed courses.

Students will be awarded the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology Certificate on successful completion of their course of study.
